Poker is a popular game having very much variations and strategies. There are many types of poker games. Poker hand is just a configuration of five cards either held by the player or drawn from a number of shared community cards. Some of the basic poker tournament straegies are as follows.
ALWAYS PLAY TIGHT GAME IN EARLY STAGES
In the early stages of poker game tournaments due to small blinds many players play a loose dont do this with your game; the earlier stage of poker games is full of loose players. Just seat tight and wait for some strong hands, don’t waste your chips on marginal hands as you will need them further in your game.
ALWAYS MAKE VALUE BET
When you have a middle pair in your hand you should bet because it’s likely you are ahead and may be called by the third pair or worse. Also if you have a strong hand you should make small bet to get maximum amount from your opponent by reeling them in.
KEEP A HELTHY AND GOOD BANKROLL
If you want to improve your chances of ever going broke in a tournament, you should have at least a bankroll of 50 buy that means if you have 1000$ bankroll you should play expensive tournaments up to 20$.in tournament playing you should have a huge bank roll to stay in the tournament and survive long draughts between wins.
TAKE ALWAYS NOTES
Always have an eye on your opponent’s activities and keep notes. You will not only learn important things about their tendencies but you will also keep your head in the game. You will also be surprised to see the same players in different tournaments. Those notes will come in handy time and again.
ALWAYS THINK ABOUT POSITION
Position matters a vital element in the poker games because it represents good knowledge advantage. When you are acting in late position you can see what your opponents do before you act. You could get away with weaker hands in late position because of this advantage. In early position you need all the help you can get so get stick with cards that are strong enough.
ALWAYS THINK TO WIN AND PLAY TO ONLY WIN
Try to play to win more rather then money. Money making is good but if you think to play to win but not to make money your tournament results would improve vastly. For example if you build a decent chip stack early don’t squander it by sitting tight and waiting for the bubble to break. Keep the pressure up and keep on building your stack. If you play for money you will cash often but for smaller amounts but if you play for first position finish you will be knocked out often but your occasional massive score will be more than make up for the times you gout early.
