Seven card stud poker games is a high card and classic poker game in which usually players are dealt with seven cards throughout the course of the hand but only the best five card poker hand possible for each player is used to determine the winner. It is a great game to have chances to bet in the pot, as you know that players are dealt with seven cards in this game. But one variation is this that the players are dealt with three cards at the starting of every hand with other four cards coming later in the hand, if they decide to stay in the hand. There are plenty of rounds in this game to bet. It’s an entertaining and a fun game to play, but as usual before playing you should be aware of the rules of the game so let’s have a look on how to play this game.
Playing seven card stud game is really simple and easy, in beginning each player is dealt with three cards amongst which two are facing down and one facing up. Players then have a round of betting as in other games where they raise, check, bet, or call depending upon the situations. This was a quick introduction too the game, so now let’s have some rules of this game :
ANTES AND LIMITS
Once the cards are shuffled each player must put an ante into the pot before he receives his first three cards, the ante goes direct in the pot and any bets made are additional to antes.
BRING IN OR THIRD STREET
As in the hold em poker action starts from the left of the big blind whereas in stud it starts with the bring. The player who has the lowest value door card brings it in. All cards are worth the face value and are valued from worth to best such as: jack, queen, king. Aces are high for the bring and they rank higher then king. If two players are having exactly same value lower card suits are used to determine the loser. Stud uses poker suit orders alphabetic from worse to best clubs, diamond heart and spades. There are two choices for the player who requires to bring either bring by making a bet amount just equal to ante or either complete the bet to the full amount of the small bet.
FOURTH AND FIFTH STREET OR ROUND
Each player now gets another exposed card known as Fouth Street. The first player to take action is the one who has highest poker value among the exposed cards for e.g. a player having a pair of aces is the one to act first ,as in exposed cards his cards are stronger then pair of kings and other players. After this another round starts and one more card is exposed to each player called as fifth street, again having the same rule the player with highest poker value card acting first. In this round betting starts with big betting limits.
Again as compared to the fifth street each player gets one face up or exposed card and the player with highest poker value card acts first, again the betting limit is big as in fifth street. And at last in the Sixth Street or final betting round one final card is dealt to each player having facedown to each player. Again the player having the highest betting amount in the previous game is first to act in this round. The final dealt card which is show down does not affect the value of other four shown cards. Again the betting starts with big betting limits.
AND AT LAST THE SHOWDOWN
Once the final bet has finished the remaining players are entered to the show down. In show down the best five card hand out of seven cards is made by each players. The rest of the two cards are almost dead and are of no use in the hand. Once the winning hand is decided the player is awarded the pot.
